The project involved the construction of a new packaging hall, offices and laboratories. The project was constructed around the existing manufacturing facility in a series of phases.
A steel frame with composite primary, secondary and concrete metal deck solution was designed to maximise clear spans to facilitate manufacturing and packaging plant. Floors were designed for an imposed load of 10KN/m2 to allow for manufacturing at first floor if required at a later date. The ground level columns were set out on a 10m grid. 3D structural modelling was used to integrate services and architectural layouts into the structural design.
