Rascals Brewery
The project involved the conversion of an existing textile factory unit to a micro-brewery and restaurant. The proposed works include the provision of offices, toilets, laboratory and production /storage area at first floor and boiler room plant room compressor room, refrigerated store, brewery barrel store, restaurant, kitchen, cold room toilets, and cleaners store at ground level.
The premises was constructed as a precast concrete frame with precast reinforced concrete slabs at first floor supported on precast concrete beams and columns. Infill panels between columns are constructed from 215mm concrete blockwork and the staircases are constructed in reinforced concrete and enclosed in 215mm block walls. The roof was constructed from lightweight metal cladding panels supported on precast concrete purlins.
The works included removal of structural elements to facilitate installation of brewing plant, analysis of existing structure and alterations to the structure for equipment, material storage and services distribution.
