Our story
What We Do
Fitzsimons Consulting Engineers have experienced engineers with over a century in combined experience, completing over 3000 projects ranging from very small renovation/refurbishment works, to projects in excess of €80m construction cost.
We have worked as Consulting Structural Engineers as part of a traditional design team, as project leaders/managers and within large institutions as part of their in-house design/building offices.
Our belief in building strong working relationships with our clients has resulted in many repeat commissions in both Public Institutions and Private companies for over thirty years, where we have been working closely with in house technical departments and design teams.
Establishing good communications and developing a complete understanding of the client’s needs have achieved these lasting relationships.

Civil & Structural Consultancy
We are dedicated to delivering a comprehensive spectrum of Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering Services, catering to projects of varying scales and complexities. Our expert team ensures the highest quality and innovative solutions for all your engineering needs.
Fire Safety
Whether it is an extension or alteration to an existing building (including protected structures) or a new build project, we can prepare a detailed Fire Safety Certificate application for your project.
Assigned Certifier
In our role as Assigned Certifier, we are responsible for collating all information such as technical submittals from contractors and sub-contractors, ancillary certificates of satisfactory completion from designers and specialist sub-contractors and uploading them to the Building Control Management System. We closely monitor each stage of the design and development of a project to ensure its compliance with the Irish Building Control Regulations.
Survey
Surveys and structural appraisals of existing buildings and development sites – commercial, industrial and residential.
Project Management
We provide Project Management Services. We believe the principles behind the successful delivery of on-time within budget projects are as follows:

Project Supervisor in the Design Process
As PSDP, Fitzsimons Consulting Engineers consider their role carefully, paying great attention to detail in all aspects of Health and Safety on a project.
When it comes to compiling a Health and Safety File, staff at FDA recognise the value of diligent record keeping and document control and the necessity for communication, cooperation and coordination between the designers on a project, the contractors and most importantly the client.
Temporary Works design
Comprehensive Temporary Works Design service on Civil and Structural projects of all sizes – we have experience working with main contractors, sub-contractors and specialists in this regard.
Accident Reports
Comprehensive investigation and reporting service covering road accidents, personal injury, safety about buildings, safe work practices, materials testing, construction / demolition and public transport.
